Bayelsa State Government has tasked the duo of Coach Isah Ladan Bosso and Whyte Ogbonda to secure continental places for the two football clubs in the state as the new season beckons, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The duo of Coach Ladan Bosso and Whyte Ogbonda were unveiled as Technical Advisers for Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queens for a two-year-stint respectively on Tuesday at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
The two coaches have been urged to take the state clubs to the continent as that the expectation of the government following their appointments.
Daniel Ighali, Bayelsa State Sport commissioner states that the expectation of the state is continental football.
“Ladan Bosso and Whyte Ogbonda are two very accomplished coaches in the league and our expectation is they are going to push United and Queens a lot further in the League,” Igali said at the unveiling ceremony.
“Our expectation is continental football which I believe they know and we are confident that all things being equal we are going to get there.”
Bosso who coached the Flying Eagles until now returns to the Prosperity Boys after leading to a third place finish in two years stint from 2012-2014.
He knows his onions with the league after coaching Kano Pillars, El Kanemi Warriors, Wikki Tourist and Abia Warriors.
Whyte Ogbonda who is also another coach with pedigree joins the Prosperity Girls after leading Rivers Angels to their ninth President Federation Cup title and a second place finish in the league in the 2023/2024 season.
He also has stints with NWFL clubs like Osun Babes, Ibom Angels and Confluence Queens and will be seeking to reclaim the title for Bayelsa Queens after the last time they won it in 2022.
