Ashantigold coach Bashir Hayford has rubbished claims his side has profited from cheap penalties which has aided their impressive start to the season.
The miners have scored from the spot kick five times from four games to put them in the driving wheel on top of the Ghanaian top-flight.
The side has been awarded penalty kicks against champions Kotoko, New Edubiase, Liberty Professionals, Bechem United and Berekum Chelsea.
There have been widespread claims the Obuasi-based side are benefiting from key decisions but coach Bashir Hayford has angrily rubbished such suggestions.
“I don’t feel comfortable with that question. I don’t understand your question. What kind of question is that? He fumed when answering a question relating to the cheap penalty claims.
“If you want to do a proper analysis, then you should also ask how many corner-kicks that we have also earned, how many free kicks so on and so forth.
“I am not a referee and so I don’t understand why anybody will ask me such a question.
“Penalties are part of the game. Or are they not anymore? Please am not happy with that kind of question.”
The miners are in pole position to challenge for the Premier League crown in over two decades as they sit firmly on top after eight games.
They host another high-flying side Heart of Lions at home on Wednesday.
