Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure denies claims he is demanding his salary before playing in game against AshGold on Sunday
Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure has denied allegations that he has issued an ultimatum concerning unpaid salaries ahead of the Asante Kotoko, Ashanti Gold clash on Sunday.
Kotoko will take on league leaders AshGold two weeks after impressively seeing off the miners in the MTN FA cup semi-final stage.
The Porcupine warriors have endured a torrid campaign which has seen them plunged into 12th position on the league log.
Issue of unpaid salaries have threatened to make an already bad season worse for Kotoko, with head coach David Duncan forced to clear the air on initial reports of management failing to honor players on their due bonuses.
With just five games to go after this weekend’s round of games Ahmed Toure is the latest to refute claims of lack of corporation with management due to unpaid salaries.
“This is not fair on me and the club we have a big game on Sunday and this should not be the issues in the media,” Toure told GHANAsoccernet.com
“I think that who whoever said I am demanding my pay before playing in the game probably spoke to the wrong Toure.”
The Ivorian born Burkina international has scored 11 goals in the league this season but has fired blank in his last two games as Kotoko slipped to defeats at the hands of Chelsea at home and West Africa football academy away respectively.
