Asante Kotoko have vehemently denied reports the club is considering the appointment of a technical director.

The Porcupine Warriors made a jerky start to their title defence campaign after losing to Aduana and drawing 2-2 with Hasaacas at home.

Quickly, rumours became rife the club were looking at hiring a technical director to assist Mas-Ud Dramani.

But the club’s General Manager Opoku Nti categorically denied that in an interview with the club’s official website.

“Kotoko isn’t considering the appointment of a technical director. Let that go on record. We won’t do that,” he said.

“These are calculated at distracting coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and the entire team.

“Kotoko won’t be distracted by anything. We feel this is meant to distract the coach and we won’t allow that.”

He added that: “We love the media. We know we have to collaborate to do a good work for Kotoko and Ghana football but when wrong information is made concerning Kotoko, we have to correct it.

“That is why we are coming out. Let all media houses crosscheck Kotoko information with our public relations office before they put it.”

Kotoko won their first match of the season in a 2-0 win over BA United.
