The Daily Express reports a £5m offer is being prepared for the utility player.
Schlupp has previously been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United.
The Germany-born, Ghana international spent a month on trial at Old Trafford in 2013 before a deal eventually fell through.
Schlupp made 35 appearances for Nigel Pearson's side last season during their successful battle against relegation.

He also chipped in with four goals for the Foxes.
The Leicester Mercury claims Arsenal's offer falls short of the club's valuation of the player who is graduate of their academy.
Aston Villa have also been linked with a swoop for the 22-year-old.
