Ghana winger Albert Adomah stole the show at the Riverside with a breathtaking finish for Middlesbrough who booked their place in Wembley for the final Promotion Play-offs after thrashing Brentford 3-0 on Friday night.
The Black Stars winger, 27, had assisted the first goal and got Boro fans screaming his name on grounds before he gracefully sealed a memorable night with a fabulous finish in the 78th minute.
It was a goal even Lionel Messi and his Barcelona would envy. Vossen into Lee Tomlin, Tomlin back to Vossen, back to Adomah, a flick to Tomlin who then touched it back to Adomah who rounded the keeper plus a defender and hammered it in off the underside of the bar.
Middlesbrough have booked their place for the last stage of the promotion play-offs and would now have to wait for the outcome of the game between Norwich City and Ipswich Town.
Lee Tomlin opened the scoring for the home side midway through the first half with a curling effort from 20 yards to increase the Boro's lead in the tie following their 2-1 victory at Griffin Park last week.
Kike fired into the roof of the net to double the hosts' lead 10 minutes after half-time.
