Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Guinea Bissau has revealed the team is willing to make the fans happy, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
After Nigeria failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar following the team’s 1-1 draw to Ghana, Super Eagles are left to see the disappointed and angry football fans who look disinterested in the senior national team.
Musa, who currently plays for Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor, claimed that the team has put that disappointment behind them.
“We know what happened a year ago here against Ghana. That is behind us now. This is the AFCON qualifier and we want to make the fans happy,” Musa said at a press conference monitored by DAILY POST.
“We know the hardship that is currently going on in the country and football is the only thing that unites Nigerians. We want to make them happy”.
The Super Eagles top Group B with six points from two games, while Guinea-Bissau are in second position with four points from same number of matches.
