Nigeria Super Eagles have defeated the Palancas Negras of Angola to secure last 4 place in the African Cup of Nations on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Atalanta BC striker, Ademola Lookman was the man once again who scored to ensure a 1-0 victory for the West African giants at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.

Angola had started with the shot on target, but goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was on hand to safe the ball in the 4th minute.

Osimhen came close to scoring in the 20 minutes later after he headers Simon's cross but it was saved by the goalkeeper.

After much pressure, the Super Eagles finally broke the deadlock 4 minutes before the end of the first half.

Lookman with a perfect finish after some great work from Simon to easily get past his marker and deliver a brilliant cross.

In the second half, the Eagles continued the dominance which saw Zaidu Sanusi come close to scoring, but his attempt was saved.

Victor Osimhen also put the ball at the back of the net, but the goal was ruled off for offside.

The Angolans came close to score with one of their attempts hitting the bar and goalkeeper Nwabali making a save, but the Nigerian team remained effective and efficient to take the day.
