AFCON 2023: FG to reward Super Eagles says Vice President

The Federal Government of Nigeria has promised to reward the Super Eagles after beating South Africa in the semi final to reach the Final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Vice President Kashim Shettima told the players and their officials in the dressing room, following their hard-fought victory over their opponents, stating that the government and people of Nigeria are proud of their accomplishment.

Shettima was in company with Governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Minister for Youth, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim as well as Oil mogul Wale Tinubu, FIFA Council Member Amaju Pinnick and NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

The Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties after playing 1-1 at regulation time to reach their 8 African Cup of Nations final in 11 years.

The Eagles play the Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire on Sunday in the final as they seek to win their fourth AFCON title.
