Former Ghana goalkeeper Sammy Adjei, says the Black Stars quality should eventually tell against host Equatorial Guinea.

Ghana have shown enviable mental toughness to recover from an opening day defeat to Senegal to make the semi-finals of the ongoing cup of nations in Equatorial Guinea.

Coach Avram Grant’s men are now favorites to make their first AFCON finals since 2010.

And Adjei says there is no way Equatorial Guinea will stand in the way of the Stars tomorrow.

“With all due respect to Equatorial Guinea we should have enough quality to overpower them,” The 2000 African champions league winner told Ghanasoccernet.com

“The boys are in the mood now and they understand what is at stake so I see them going all the way.”

Ghana is likely to be without influential skipper Asamoah Gyan for the clash after he came up worst from a nasty challenge from Guinean goalkeeper Nabby Yattara at the quarter final stage and Adjei admits his absence would be deeply felt.

“Asamoah has developed into a key figure of the side and there is no way his absence would not be felt but I am sure the boys will rise above that.”
