Guinea defender Kamil Zayatte has ruled himself out of the quarter final clash against Ghana on Sunday.
The 29-year-old is yet to play a game for the Syli National at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations due to a leg injury.
Michel Dussuyer’s side has however fared fairly well in the absence of the experienced defender – having not lost a game so far and conceding just three goals.
Guinea will again be without the Sheffield Wednesday player for the quarter final clash against Ghana on Sunday in Malabo.
“I know I have not been fit but I try to give my motivation to the team to win to make qualification to the semi final,” Zayatte confirmed at the pre-match press conference.
Guinea are considered the ‘dark horses’ at the 2015 AFCON – having qualified for the finals playing all their home matches away from their Ebola-infested country.
