AFC U-16 Championship 2018 Qualifiers Group G: Northern Mariana Islands 1-11 Timor-Leste

Bangkok: Timor Leste ended their AFC U-16 Championship 2018 Malaysia qualifying campaign with a 11-1 win over Northern Mariana Islands at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Sunday.

It was Timor-Leste's second win in Group G but they were already out of the running with Indonesia having sealed top spot on Friday.

Still, Timor-Leste were looking to end their campaign on a high and only took eight minutes to find the opening goal, courtesy of Mouzinho de Lima.

Five minutes later, Ejivanio Ferreira da Costa made it 2-0 before Northern Mariana Islands tightened up their defence.

However, their respite only lasted till the 33nd minute as de Lima scored his second. 

Timor-Leste were relentless in the second half, with Paulo Domingos in the 52nd and 54th minutes and Serafin Brito (55th, 59th) piling on the goals.

Jhon Frith Ornai made it 8-0 in the 68th minute but there was to be joy for Northern Mariana Islands as they scored their first of the tournament through Ian Karl Maniago in the 70th minute. 

Timor-Leste skipper Ornai scored his team's ninth in the 78th minute and unfortunate Northern Mariana defender Joshua Mendez made 10-1 in the 81st with an own goal.

Timor-Leste's final goal of the match came in the 85th minute as de Lima completed his hat-trick.
