WAFCON 2024: CAF unveils Technical study group as tournament heats up
As the 2024 WAFCON begins, CAF has unveiled its Technical Study Group (TSG) as they will be sharing tactical highlights on all the matches as well as producing a post-tournament technical report, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.
The Technical Study Group is made up of seasoned football experts, including former coaches, technical directors, instructors, and analysts. Their role includes observing and evaluating CAF competitions, focusing on tactical trends, playing systems, and both individual and team performances.
Led by the director of CAF Technical development division, Raul Chipenda, he will be joined by South Africa trio Sheryl Botes, Shilene Booysen and Leah Sweetness, Lamia Boumehdi (Morocco), Radia Fertoul (Algeria), Jacqueline Shipanga (Namibia), Clementine Touré (Côte d’Ivoire), Bernadette Anong (Cameroon) as Nigeria misses out.
The group compiles detailed technical reports that capture key insights and strategies, offering practical recommendations aimed at supporting CAF Member Associations, coaches, and development programs in raising the overall standard of African football.
