Nigeria's Flamingos earned an emphatic win over Samao Republic to qualify for the round of 16 of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup going on in Morocco, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The West African girls redeemed their stay in the competition after consecutive loses to Canada (1-4) and France (0-1) put them at the brink of be ousted.

However, a brace from Queen Joseph, Captain Shakirat Moshood and Azeezat Oduntan capped off a ruthless performance at the Mohammed VI Pitch 3.

The opener came in the 15th minute when Joseph latched onto a fine pass from Moshood and lifted the ball beyond Samoa’s goalkeeper, Grace Ae.

The momentum for another goal never dropped for the Nigerian girls as the next goal came on the 28th minutes after Moshood converted from the spot to make it 2-0 after Holly Leapai handled the ball in the box.

In the 36th minute, Nguemo Terlumun beat Samoa’s defence and crossed for Joseph, who finished neatly to make it 3-0 for Nigeria, wrapping up a comfortable lead to finish the half.

Azeezat Oduntan completed the tour on 68 minutes as the score ended 4-0. Nigeria will play Italy in the next round.
