Nigeria U-20 boys kick-started their African Cup of Nations campaign with a slim win over Tunisia on Thursday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

In the opening match of Group B, the Flying Eagles defeated the Junior Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 1-0 at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.

The Flying Eagles took a one-goal advantage into the break courtesy of a fine finish from Auwal Ibrahim after brilliant work down the flank by Odinaka Okoro.

It remained a cagey affair for the young Eagles, who could not add to the goal tally, but held on to the lead to win their first match and get their 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile on track.

The Nigerian boys play Morocco in their next game on Sunday.
