Flying Eagles group A opponent and host of the U-20 African Cup of Nations, Egypt will have to make do without their star striker, Salah Pasha for the tournament due to injury, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The former Al Ahly teen sustained a hamstring injury in Egypt’s 1-1 friendly draw against Uganda's Junior Hippos on Monday night.

The injury was confirmed via a post on the Junior Pharaohs' social media handle.

The youngster scored three goals for Egyptian youth team in the Arab Cup, which the Pharaohs lost to Saudi Arabia on penalties in the final.

Egypt, who are yet to announce a replacement for the Salah will play Mozambique in their first game on Sunday while they Nigeria's Flying Eagles three days later.
