Abel Ogwuche was named the man of the match after Nigeria's victory over Uganda at the African Cup of Nations U-20 AFCON going on in Egypt on Thursday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Hippos of Uganda by a goal to nil at the Soul Stadium ensuring they progress to the semi finals and ensure an U-20 World Cup ticket to Indonesia this year.

Ogwuche who replaced Flying Eagles captain, Daniel Bameyi was solid in the defender to ensure Nigeria held on to a one nil lead scored via an own goal in the first half.

It was the first start of the Swedish based centre defender  and he delivered.

Nigeria await the remaining quarter final fixtures to ascertain their opponents in the semi final.
