Troost-Ekong, Onyemaechi, and Obasogie lead Super Eagles' Camp
The Super Eagles have kicked off their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa the arrival of captain William Troost-Ekong, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Ekong featured for 90 minutes in his Al-Kholood 2-1 defeat at Al-Ettifaq over the weekend.
Joining the defender is midfielder, Bruno Onyemaechi, and goalkeeper Amas Obasogie in Uyo.
The trio checked into the team's hotel base, Four Points by Sheraton, on Monday morning, with Troost-Ekong and Obasogie arriving together before being joined by Onyemaechi.
More players are expected to join the camp later in the day.
Head coach Eric Chelle has called up 23 players for the qualifiers, and the team will hold its first official training session on Tuesday at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Nigeria will play the Amavubi of Rwanda on Saturday, September 6 before facing the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, September 9.
