Barcelona's forward, Asisat Oshoala, is poised for an unexpected transfer to Manchester United in the Women’s Super League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Despite earlier links in the summer of 2021, Barcelona managed to secure her commitment with a new contract.

The forward's contract ends on June 30 and everything points to her leaving the Spanish giant.

Initially eyeing a move for Brazil's Kerolin Nicoli, Manchester United has shifted focus to the former Liverpool and Arsenal forward due to an injury affecting Nicoli.

Currently trailing behind Chelsea in the Women’s Super League standings, the Red Devils hope that Oshoala's potential addition will boost their prospects of narrowing the gap with the league leaders.

As of now, Manchester United holds the second position in the Women’s Super League, and Oshoala, who joined Barcelona in 2019 and has participated in 108 games in the Primera División Femenina, could play a pivotal role in their pursuit of success.
