As Nigeria gears up for their opening Group D fixture against Senegal on Tuesday, Super Eagles B head coach Eric Chelle has acknowledged the strength of their West African rivals while remaining upbeat about his team’s preparedness, writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Addressing journalists during the pre-match press conference on Monday, Chelle praised the pedigree of the Senegalese side but made it clear that his players are ready for the challenge ahead.

"I don’t think it’s a derby, but this is a game between two big footballing nations in Africa. Senegal has a rich history, a strong generation of players, and a very good team," Chelle stated.

With both sides eyeing a strong start to their 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) campaign, the clash promises to be a high-stakes encounter featuring some of the best locally based talents on the continent.
