The Management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has apologised to the supporters and fans over the unimpressive performance of the team, appealing for patience as the team settles down to review the first round.

Speaking after Sunday's 2-2 draw against Akwa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, the Executive Chairman of the Oluyole Warriors, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, Akoro, appreciated the supporters and fans for always turning out to watch the home games of the club, despite the harsh economic situation.

He also commended members of the Sports Writer's Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Oyo State chapter for their professionalism and projection of the Club in positive ways.

"On behalf of the management and the entire team, I want to appreciate our financier, the government of Oyo State, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State for giving the club unflinching financial and moral support.

"Equally, I use this medium, on behalf of the club, to appreciate our teeming supporters and fans who have continued to support us through thick and thin and showing concern over our current form, which truly calls for concern.

"Going by our solid preparations prior to the start of the season, which all of you can attest to, we never envisaged things will turn out this way but we want to assure you that we are not going to relent but remain focus, as we try to fix things", said the retired referee.

Speaking further, he said. "We will definitely make good use of the three week break in reviewing our performance in the first round, in a bid to find out what went wrong and as well do the needful to make corrections where necessary.

"The management, coaching staff, the players and the entire team as a whole will surely sit down to discuss the way forward, just to ensure that we give you all our supporters and fans the desired joy which is the only way to reciprocate your staunch support for us."

The former Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, however, appealed to the backers of the club, not to turn their back on the team at this point, but to keep supporting the club.

"We urge you not to lose hope in us, but to keep supporting us through your prayers and in every other aspects, and we promise you a better second round", he concluded.

The Oluyole Warriors currently occupies the 7th position on group A of the Abridged 2023 NPFL league season with 10 points from 9 games.
