Rivers United on Sunday away from home defeated hosts DC Motema Pembe in Angola 1-0 in a Match Day 3 tie. The away match result puts Rivers United of Port Harcourt on top group B with six points in three matches.

“We worked so hard for this and hardwork pays.” Festus said.

“We were beaten before for now and we learnt our lesson and I think after that game we are improving.

“We are very happy. I think we have great people behind us and everyone is happy.” Festus concluded.

Rivers United on Wednesday, March 8 will play again DC Motema Pembe at Godwill Akpabio Stadium in one their the return legs in the group stage.
