Super Eagles B team Coach, Salisu Yusuf has stated that revenge is not a priority as his team is set to square up against rivals Ghana's Black Galaxies in the first leg of the CHAN qualifiers.

The Super Eagles could not make it to the World Cup in Qatar courtesy of the Black Stars of Ghana after the latter edged out the latter at the qualifiers via away goal rule.

And with the recent paring of the two countries for the home based AFCON qualifiers many felt it was a good opportunity for revenge, but the Nigeria coach would not be drawn that talk.

The coach, who took the Eagles B to a silver finish in 2018 in Morocco, said his current team is more concerned about qualifying for Algeria 2023 rather than aim for a ‘revenge.’

“I won’t say we are seeking to get revenge against Ghana because of what happened with the last game on the road to the Qatar World Cup. We want to win and qualify for the final stage of the competition in Algeria next year. That is basically what we are pursuing.

“However, if we beat them to the ticket, which we definitely hope to achieve, then whatever description anyone gives it should be a matter of choice,” the coach said after a session at the training pitch of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The qualifiers will see the two teams play in a two-legged affair on the 28th of August, 2022 at the Cape Coast while the return leg will take place at the Abuja Stadium on the 3rd of September, 2022.
