Reduce the players, sign players only on merit- Sunshine Stars coach pleads with management
The Coach of Nigeria Professional Football League club Sunshine Stars Emmanuel Deutsch has asked for a reduction in the size of the playing staff of the club.
The Cameroonian made the statements while addressing the management on Monday as the players embark on a two weeks break.
"Sunshine management did fantastically well in terms of welfare and motivation. No owing of salaries and bonuses. It is very good. This team could have achieved a lot but I already told you that you will play better towards the end of the season because I joined in the mid-season.
"It will take time for players that I didn't recruit to adjust to my philosophy, but you can see we understand ourselves better towards the end."
"I want to advise that the size of the squad be reduced to make the job easier, and players should be signed only on merit and with these success is guaranteed.
"I will still come up with my end-of-the-season report. Thank you".
