Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali is confident that Nigeria will emerge victorious against hosts South Africa in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The match, set to take place at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, is a must-win for Nigeria to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

"I feel like we have a very strong squad to match any country. I don’t see them beating us. I know we respect them, but they are not favourites.

“They are doing well, even topping the group. I believe it is going to be a tough game tomorrow but we will come out stronger.” Said Nwabali.

Nwabali's confidence stems from the team's strong performance in recent games, including their 1-0 win over Rwanda last weekend.

South Africa currently tops Group C with 16 points from seven games, while Nigeria sits in third position with 10 points.

A win for Nigeria would significantly boost their chances of qualifying for the World Cup, reducing South Africa's lead in the group.
