Group B leaders, Lobi Stars have seen their unbeaten streak cut short after facing loss against Wikki Tourist in the match day 8 of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Makurdi Boys saw their six match unbeaten trauncated after falling by two goals to one at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.

Idris Guda's brace led the Giant Elephant to the win after Abbar Umar had restored parity at some point in the game for the Pride of Benue.

Guda opened score as early as the 7th minute after scoring from the penalty spot. Umar made it one all in the 35th minute with a thunder strike, but three minutes later Guda scored to restore the lead.

The first half ended with Wikki Tourist having the momentum and holding on throughout the second half despite several charges toward the goal of Wikki Tourist by Lobi Stars.

The win means Wikki are now without a loss in three matches, but remain 8 in the league group B standings.

Group leaders, Lobi Stars with the loss are three points ahead of Abia Warriors who are share same points as Rivers United who still have two matches to play due to their continental engagement.
