Match winner of the Nigeria Premier Football League game between Nasarawa United and Shooting Stars Sports Club, Nelson Abiam says more goals should be expected from him, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Abiam scored the only goal in the Solid Miners 1-0 win over the Oluyole Warriors in their matchday 16 encounter at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday.

The defender who moved from Wikki Tourist at the middle of the abridged season scored his first goal which he expressed happiness over.

"I feel so excited to have opened my goal account for Nasarawa United since I joined them during the half season break.

"This is so special to me and the team because it was the winning goal for us.

"I got an instruction from our Technical Crew to go to the last side of the post, and I obeyed it, and fortunately, the ball from a corner kick met me after a goal-line scramble.

"You should expect more goals from me in the remaining games and others."

The centre back has proven to be one who can score especially from freekicks and it is left to be seen if he will continue on this form to help his team out of the relegation waters.
