Doma United's first outing in the Nigeria Premier League, NPFL began with a one all draw at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe on Sunday against Sunshine Stars of Akure.

The newly promoted were heading to their first victory in Nigeria top flight football before a they were pegged back by the visitors at the 89th minute.

Charles Chibuike became the first player to score for the Savannah Tigers as he opened score in the 38th minute.

But Yusuf Ibrahim's header cut short the celebration of Doma United fans.

Nevertheless, Coach Onigbende praised his boys and promised they will do better in the next game.

“Our boys were superb, especially in the first half, they did their best and every one of them did not relent. As you can see, we are all disappointed with the result but we cannot dwell on that as we already have a game ahead and it is against Niger Tornadoes and we are preparing to go and pick our three points there insha Allah. This is a lesson that everyone will go and sit down and think about it” He said.

The newbies travel to Kaduna to face Niger Tornadoes in their second game of the season on Wednesday.
