Reigning champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Enyimba have moved top of the league standings after a thumbing of Gombe United in their match day 22 fixture in Aba on Thursday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

A brace by Chijioke Mbaoma and a goal each by Uche Collins and Imo Obot earned the People's Elephant a thumping victory over the Savannah Scorpions 4-0 at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, Abia State.

Mbaoma broke the deadlock in the 44th minute from the spot after a couple of saves by Gombe United goalkeeper to end the first half 1-0 in favour of the hosts.

The goal poacher got his second of the day on 57 minute after he completed the easy task of tapping into the open net after Nnachi was felled after rounding the keeper.

Substitute Uche Collins made it 3 3 minutes after his introduction to put that Aba giants in the driving seat.

Obot rounded off the rout a minute after 90 minutes with a well taken free kick to end the score at 4-0, taking the champions top of the log with better goal difference than Lobi Stars on 39 points.
