Kano Pillars ace Ifeanyi Matthew was today presented as a player of Norwegian side Lillestrom.

He reportedly put pen to paper on a three years deal and he will be hoping he formally gets his European career underway in the same country his fellow countryman John Mikel Obi of Chelsea started his career in Europe.

Matthew is rated by many as one of the best midfielders in the Nigeria Professional Football League and was by far alongside Chisom Chikatara the bright side of a dull campaign for Nigeria at the last CHAN Championship in Rwanda.

He was a part of the Nigeria U-20 team that won the Africa Youth Championship in Senegal and many believed the injury he picked up at the U-20 World Championship in New Zealand in Nigeria’s first game against Brazil that ruled him out of the rest of their games is partly the reason why Nigeria crashed out in the round of 16.
