The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have revealed that the 2023 edition of Federation Cup will commence in May. Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Based on the newsletter released by the federation after a board meeting with stakeholders, the competition will start a week before the end of the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The winner of the competition, as well as the third-placed team in the NPFL will represent Nigeria in the 2024 edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Bayelsa United remains the defending champion of the cup as the 2022 edition of the Federation Cup was inconclusive and no winner was announced by the NFF.
