Former Sunshine Stars front man, Musa Newman, will be a major boost for Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos as they face Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash.

MFM FC will be guest of the Benue side in match day 15 of the NPFL coming up at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.

Newman did not feature for the Lagos-based team in their last league match against Akwa United which they won by three goals to nothing at the Agege Stadium due to suspension but he is expected to return to coach Fidelis Ilechuckwu’s match day squad for the weekend tie.

Ilechuckwu and his wards will be relying on the experienced forward and other players to get the maximum points at stake at the ground where they began their maiden NPFL campaign on a blazing note with a win over Nasarawa United on match day 1.

Newman netted for the Olukoya Boys in that their first NPFL 2-1 win over Nasarawa United and also assisted Chukwuka Onuwa for the second goal.

Speaking to the club media, Newman said he hopes to put up another scintillating performance this weekend.

“Our reaction against Nasarawa United was very, very great in our first league match and the spirit was high as the boys put up their best and God crowned our efforts and we got the three points in the game.

“We are going back there this weekend with the same spirit because in our training sessions the boys have shown some fighting spirit and I believe the coaches too have confidence in the boys.

“My reaction towards the game is going to be extraordinary. I will try my best to make sure we get a good result over there by the power of God Almighty on our side. We are going all out for the three points. I pray and I wish that my goals will count again on that ground because that was the same ground I scored my first league goal this season,” he concluded.
