Myanmar off to flying start in AFF Futsal Championship 2017
Ho Chi Minh City: Myanmar kicked off their ASEAN Football Federation Futsal Championship 2017 campaign in spectacular fashion on Thursday, beating Brunei 13-0 in a Group A tie in Ho Chi Minh City.
Pyae Phyo Maung scored four goals to steal the show for Myanmar, who were 8-0 up at halftime in a tournament which is the ASEAN zone qualifier for the AFC Futsal Championship 2018.
Maung opened the scoring in the third minute followed by a double from Sai Pyone Aung in the seventh and Hlaing Min Tun in the 10th to give Myanmar a comfortable 4-0 lead.
Maung completed his hat-trick with two goals in the 14th minute as Htay Myint's side were ruthless in front of goal.
Aung Aung added Mynamar's seventh three minutes before the break and Aung Zin Oo hit number eight in the final minute of the first half.
There was no respite for Brunei as they leaked in five more goals after the recess.
Goals from Naing Ye Kyaw (27th, 29th), Maung (28th), Kyaw Kyaw Tun (36th) and Aung Aung (38th) completed the emphatic win.
