"?Manchester United defender Luke Shaw says he has no quarrel with Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho despite the public criticism directed his way after the shock Premier League defeat against Watford last month - the player's last start in a United shirt.

Shaw, whom Mourinho has already confirmed will be in the line-up that takes to the field against Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday, is just eager to learn and improve.

"I hate missing matches but this is what happens sometimes," says @LukeShaw23. "I'm back and ready to fight for my place." #MUFC

"I am a grown man I can take what the manager says," the 21-year-old full-back commented as he fielded questions from the media after Mourinho spoke on Wednesday afternoon.

"But I am also still young so I can take on board what he says and improve. You have to listen to your coach and have a good attitude about it.

"I was disappointed with the (Watford) result but not with what the manager said. I take it on board and look to improve and hopefully I will do that over the next matches," he added.

"Our main priority is defending. At Watford maybe I pushed forward too much. You need to concentrate on defending first. As long as we are keep a clean sheet, the more chance we have of winning the game."

There was outcry at the time when Mourinho said post-match that Shaw should have been closer to Watford winger Nordin Amrabat in the build up to the decisive goal.

There were reports that even some of the more senior United players were taken aback by the public nature of the criticism.

A groin injury followed by a bout of illness means that Shaw hasn't started a game since, although he made his return to action as a substitute against Liverpool on Monday night.
