Lorient president hints Jordan Ayew took pay-cut to land Aston Villa move
Lorient president Loic Fery has hinted Ghana striker Jordan Ayew took a pay-cut to move to Aston Villa.
The Ghana international completed his transfer on Monday by signing a five-year deal contract.
Fery stated: "The sale of Jordan Ayew was not really expected this season, and I regret his departure and especially the circumstances in which it occurred.
"However, Jordan is a talented young player and someone also endearing. It was important for FC Lorient to be respected; we are happy to have finally found agreement with Aston Villa for the transfer, a record for FCL.
"Jordan Ayew had to make significant financial efforts to realize his dream to play in the Premier League. I thank him for what he brought to the club and wish him success in his new colors."
Ayew made his debut on Tuesday night as a second half substitute in their 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Jux noticing the new interface. Nice mobile friendly outlook. Hope u keep it. And this kid really wanted to be in the EPL to take a pay cut. Hope he knows other strikers are being targeted to he will not necessarily be walking into the first eleven until its earned.
