"?Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne's substantial wage demands have alerted Liverpool to a potential opportunity to sign the disgruntled star, according to a report in "?Sport Witness

The attacking talent, who plays on the wing, has been habitually linked with the Reds for a while, and speculation in Italy suggests that Jurgen Klopp is extremely interested in the diminutive star.

Insigne, 25, scored twice for the Naples-based side to claim a 2-1 win over Udinese on Saturday, which will only have added to his reputation, and according to  Calciomercato, Liverpool and Valencia are steadily monitoring his progress.

However, interest may now be exacerbated with the winger's future at the club in serious doubt after the player's contract renewal request - a desired salary of €4m-per-season - was turned down by owner Aurelio De Laurentiis - although it does not expire until 2019.

The player also lost his place in the Italian national team and will hope that his performances are enough to earn him a new contract as well as regain his place in the national team.

Still, as long as the situation continues to be unresolved, the more likely interest will intensify, with Klopp in particular, known to favour diminutive play-makers. The German has also been linked with Ciro Immobile at Bourussia Dortmund, so perhaps the club are intent on getting some Italian!
