Onyedika Pushes for Galatasaray Move as Club Brugge Hold Firm
Raphael Onyedika is pushing to leave Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge this month, with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray already agreeing personal terms with the midfielder, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Yellow and Reds are prepared to offer the 24-year-old a salary of around €1 million per year as they look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season. Onyedika is keen on the move, motivated by the prospect of teaming up with his Super Eagles colleague Victor Osimhen, who has become one of Galatasaray’s key players.
Club Brugge, however, is reluctant to sanction the transfer at this stage. According to Voetbalkrant, the Belgian club is determined to keep the Nigerian midfielder until the end of the campaign and has already turned down Galatasaray’s initial offer.
Onyedika still has 18 months remaining on his current contract with Club Brugge, a factor that has strengthened the club’s negotiating position.
The defensive midfielder joined Brugge from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2022 and has since established himself as an important figure in the team, as well as a regular presence in the Super Eagles setup.
