Super Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin has received a generous reward of ?30 million and a house from Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in recognition of her outstanding performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The state’s helmsman hosted Demehin at the Government House in Akure on Monday, alongside Super Falcons media officer Mary Akinsola and team secretary Mary Oduboku. Akinsola and Oduboku were each gifted ?15 million for their service during the tournament.

The Nigerian women’s national team, under the guidance of coach Justine Madugu, clinched a record-extending 10th WAFCON title last month after a thrilling 3–2 win over host nation Morocco in the final.

Demehin, who plays for Galatasaray, featured in every minute of Nigeria’s six matches at the competition and was instrumental at the heart of the defence. She also found the net during Nigeria’s quarter-final triumph over Zambia’s Copper Queens.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s gesture adds to the growing wave of national appreciation for the historic achievements of the Super Falcons and their staff.
