Egyptian club, Telecom SC has announced the appointment of Aliyu Zubairu as their new head coach, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Zubairu, 61, brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously worked as the head coach of Nigeria's U-20 side, the Flying Eagles.

Under his guidance, the Flying Eagles finished third at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. Zubairu will be assisted by fellow Nigerian Lukman Ijaya at Telecom SC.

The appointment comes after Zubairu's impressive stint with El-kanemi Warriors, whom he led to win the President Federation Cup in 2024.
