NNL: Sporting Lagos secure victory over First Bank FC
Sporting Lagos recorded a hard-fought victory over First Bank FC in their Nigeria National League encounter on Sunday at the Onikan Stadium, NigeriaSoccernet reports.
After a convincing 3–1 win over Osun United in their first game of the season, the Tech Boys went into the second match — though away from home — with a strong winning mindset.
Following an end-to-end first half, there was little to separate the two sides in the keenly contested Lagos derby.
In the second half, Kelvin Unenge proved decisive, delivering a superb finish in the 64th minute to seal the win for Sporting Lagos.
Unenge’s outstanding performance earned him the Sportslight Hub Man of the Match Award in the derby.
Sporting Lagos will host Abeokuta Stormers Sports Club in their next fixture.
