Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, will stand trial for his alleged involvement in a false accounting saga surrounding Victor Osimhen's transfer to the club in 2020, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The transfer fee was allegedly inflated, according to Italian reports.

The Nigeria international's move from Lille involved goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis and three Primavera players, Manzi, Palmieri, and Liguori.

Prosecutors claim the valuations of the three players were artificially inflated to improve Napoli's financial position.

De Laurentiis, his associate Andrea Chiavelli, and the club itself have been charged.

The trial is scheduled to begin on December 2, 2026.
