2026 WorldCup playoff: Super Eagles boycott training over unpaid bonuses
Nigeria's men's national team, the Super Eagles, have boycotted training on Tuesday ahead of their World Cup Playoff over unpaid bonuses, NigeriaSoccernet.com has gathered.
It was reported that the players and officials refused to train in Morocco because of unresolved issues with outstanding payments.
Major news sources say these bonuses are not new and have been since 2019.
Further reports say that none of the Super Eagles players have received their allocated allowances or bonus for reaching the 2025 AFCON and 2026 World Cup playoff.
The players are now waiting for a resolution, according to the team's captain, William Troost Ekong, to go back to training.
The Super Eagles' crucial World Cup Playoff comes up on Thursday against Gabon.
