Iheanacho Targets Silverware After Completing Celtic Move
New Celtic signing Kelechi Iheanacho has vowed to help the Scottish champions continue their dominance by adding more trophies this season, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.
The Nigerian forward joined the Hoops on a one-year deal with an option for a further 12 months after mutually parting ways with Spanish side Sevilla. He previously endured a difficult spell in Spain, followed by a short loan stint at Middlesbrough.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Iheanacho expressed his delight at sealing the move:
“I’m excited to be a Celtic player and feel really good about it. Celtic is a massive club and I’ve been following them for a long time. I’m happy to be a part of that now, and hopefully it’ll be a great season. I’m looking forward to fighting for silverware with Celtic. In England, I won trophies, so hopefully I can be a winner with Celtic as well. I can’t wait to be a part of all of it, and I’m very confident that I can bring a lot to the team.”
The 27-year-old, who has lifted silverware in England with Manchester City and Leicester City, now hopes to replicate that success in Glasgow as he seeks to reignite his career.
