Striker Gilbert Fiamenyo was mobbed by fans following his two-goal heroics as Hearts of Oak thumped Crystal Palace 5-0 in a friendly match on Sunday.

The burly striker scored in the 24th and 40th minute respectively to the delight of the local fans in the game played at Akosombo.

The match against the third tier side forms part of the team’s intensive preparations ahead of the start of the Ghana Premier League on January 17.

Fiamenyo was prevented by a massive crowd of fans from leaving the stadium as many of them wanted to take memorable photographs with the ex Ghana U23 star.

Fiamenyo’s brace on Sunday signals the striker’s return to form which will be crucial for the Phobians at the commencement of the Ghanaian top flight.

Heart open their challenge for the Premier League title against a slippery newly promoted West African Football Academy in Kpando.

This is good news that Gilbert Fiamenyo is now fnding his scoring prowess. Let's all pray for him to hit top form to help Hearts of Oak in both the Premiership and the CAF Confederation Cup. I wish Fiamenyo all the best and injury - free as the years go by. This player should have been playing professional football in Europe by now. But it is not too late. He will definitely succeed. I really feel for him. He has really suffered injury setbacks. God is really in control. All the best to the entire Hearts' players. I appreciate all of them. PHOBIA, CONTINENTAL CLUB MASTERS. THEY ARE COMING AGAIN. WATCH OUT!!!
