Hearts of Oak have initiated unofficial talks towards the appointment of Yusif Abubakar as their next coach, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Representatives of the Phobians have been holding behind-the-scenes talks with Abubakar who is currently the coach of relegated Premier League club Heart of Lions.

Hearts are looking for a substantive replacement for Herbert Addo who parted ways with the club in the middle of last season over a string of poor results.

Eddie Ansah who was handed temporal reigns is also interested in landing the job on a substantive basis.

The Accra-based club are receiving applications from coaches interested in taking up the vacant post.

There is however a group conducting a covert head-hunting operation.

Yusif Abubakar has been identified by this group as competent enough to take up the job.

Yusif Abubakar once coached Hearts of Oak before he left to take up a job with Berekum Chelsea.
