Ghanaian striker Abdul-Basit Adam released by South African side Free State Stars

South African side Free State Stars have handed clearance to Ghanaian striker Abdul Adam Basit to look for another club elsewhere.

The 20-year-old failed to live up to the expectations at Stars.

The striker made just two starts for the team and a few substitute appearances in their league campaign of the 2014/15 season.

"Abdul Adam Basit has parted ways with Free State Stars," a source told Soccer Laduma.

"He recently attended trials in Belgium. He was unsuccessful in his search for a club in Belgium, as nothing tangible came out of the trials.

"The club (Stars) gave him his clearance on his return from overseas."

Basit is expected to look for a club in South Africa.
