Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila asked to be substituted after feeling pains in his ankle during Al Qadsia’s 2-2 draw with Istiqlol in the AFC Cup game on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old who has been key for his Kuwaiti club was replaced after 33 minutes at which point his side were up 1-0.

Al Qadsia conceded the equalizer three minutes later before going behind in stoppage time in the first half.

Al Qadsia however fought back to pull level none minutes into the second half to finish the game 2-2 in Kuwait City.

The Kings remain top of Group C in the AFC Cup after the first round of group matches with seven points.
