Nigeria Super Eagles have taken  significantly leap in the latest ranking released by World Football Governing Body, FIFA on Thursday, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

This comes after the West Africans finished an impressive second in the just concluded African Cup of Nations, moving 14 places from 43 to 28 position.

Nigeria played 6 matches in the AFCON winning 5 and getting 1 draw before narrowly losing 2-1 to host nation, Cote D'Ivoire in the final.

The team scored 8 conceding 3 goals in their journey to final, keeping 5 clean sheets.

With the big movement in the ranking, Nigeria is now ranked 3rd in Africa  behind Morocco (who are 12th) and Senegal, who are ranked 17th.
