Playmaker Augustine Okrah received the Most Valuable Player Award at the Port Sudan Festival Cup playing for Al Merreikh.

The former Bechem United player excelled in the number-10 role in the decider against Ugandan champions KCC FC which they won 2-1.

Doubts about his fitness have been quashed ahead of the start of the new Sudan Premier League season.

After the impressive display on his debut competitive fixture for Al-Merreikh, plaudits came for what one journalist described as an 'amazing display of technical ability on the ball' in the Port Sudan staged event.

Okrah, 22, is beginning to show glimpses of the pace and skills that won him the Most Valuable Player and goal king in the Ghana Premier League last season.
