Brentford defender Benjamin Fredrick has celebrated his first appearance for the Super Eagles after featuring in Saturday's Unity Cup final victory over Jamaica, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 19-year-old centre-back impressed coach Eric Chelle and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi with his performance in the thrilling encounter.

Fredrick expressed his gratitude on Instagram, saying, "Every great story has a beginning. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

"All glory to God for my Super Eagles debut, the journey continues. Huge thank you to the manager and the incredible coaching staff for believing in me."

The young defender's debut marks an important milestone in his career, and he appears eager to build on this opportunity with the friendly against Russia in sight.
